To experience the greatness of the mountains and swim in the sea all in a span of eight days is something you have to try to believe. Walking along the gorgeous mountain ranges, experiencing the life of shepherds and looking upon the narrow paths of chamois seem like a fairy tale. Along a tiny part of our planet, hikers will explore the most praised tourist landscapes, discover the wilderness and bathe in the glittering Adriatic Sea.

DAY 01

Transfer from Ljubljana to Bled and later on Bohinj

Bled, the pearl of Slovenia marked on all tourist maps of the world, will be the first unforgettable impression of your hiking experience. The interweaving of natural and cultural heritage is visible at every step, while walking to the castle, to the church in the middle of the lake, or to the viewpoint of Ojstrica.

Transfer to Bohinj, the second pearl of Slovenia tourism. It is in the heart of Triglav National Park.

DAY 02

In the heart of Triglav National Park: from Bohinj to Prehodavci

After breakfast real hiking awaits us. We experience shepherd’s pulse at Planina pri Jezeru and Planina Dedno polje with a cheese tasting and rich architectural heritage of Bohinj. Those who would like to observe Triglav (2864 m), Slovenia’s highest peak and a national symbol, have the opportunity to view it from Kanjavec. On our way to Prehodavci we are greeted by the pristine mountain world with the amazing views of the Julian Alps. In the mountain lodge we taste traditional food with the famous Carniolan sausage and other excellent mountain cuisine.

DAY 03

The Triglav Lakes Valley

The Triglav Lakes Valley is one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. The mighty slopes of the Julian Alps are reflected on the water surface surrounded by the lush Alpine flora and fauna. In the Kingdom of Capricorns, the paths lead to the mountain hut at Triglav Lakes known for its exquisite domestic cuisine. After lunch we walk to Komna and enjoy our dinner with magnificent views.

DAY 04

From the mountains to the spring of Soča

The next morning, we follow the paths of the WWI towards the Krn Lake. Along the path we visit an open-air museum and observe the views of the rocky world around us. After reaching the Krn Lake we have lunch in the embrace of the mountains. We continue our way to Soča Valley towards Lepena and from a nice walk along Soča river. Our day is concluded with a dinner in a hotel in Bovec, a charming little mountain town.

DAY 05

Alpe Adria Trail

A large part of this picturesque stage runs along the left bank of the River Soča, before turning away from the river towards the end of this stage. The route then leads up to the delightful village of Drežnica above Kobarid.

Our hike takes us past the romantic Virje waterfall to the magical world of Narnia: The Bovec Valley , a natural and cultural heritage, once served as the setting for part of the Walt Disney film “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian”. Near the majestic Boka waterfall, hundreds of cubic metres of water dash deep into the valley from a height of 106 metres. Then we follow the emerald green River Soča, on which keen canoeists and rafters take it in turns to tackle the rapids, around the Polovnik Mountain. After a slight ascent we reach the mountain village of Drežnica, below the Krn Mountain.

DAY 06

From Drežnica to Zavižani

From Drežnica to Zavižani (8 hours transfer)

Between Drežnica and Zavižani we will stop at Postojna cave and wine testing.

Mount Velebit, which is the heart of the Dinaric mountain range, is has the most beautiful views over the Northern Adriatic coast and its islands. Zavižan mountain hut, the highest-positioned meteorological station in Croatia, which serves as the overnight base on the tour.

Zavižani offers priceless experience when enjoyed in the wonderful afternoon vistas of the Northern Adriatic islands. On a clear day, it is possible to see all the way to the Italian Apennines range and, if lucky, one can even see all the way to the famous Dolomite peaks in northern Italy.

DAY 07

From Zavižani to Alan

The second hiking stage and the discovering of Croatia start on the longest mountain range in the country – Velebit. The path is actually a stage with breath-taking views along the Adriatic coast, where we can find a true architectural masterpiece – Primužić path. We pass through the National Park marked by the wild world of Dinaric mountains full of karst phenomena, sink-holes and centuries-old trees.

DAY 08

Primožič trail

DistanceDistance: 19.4 km
DistanceElevation: 236 m

Saving the best for last. The picturesque landscape replaces the labyrinths carved in rocks with views of the Adriatic islands. The primal mountain environment offers a limitless adventure. Bear footprints and scarce Alpine vegetation are a real sight for the eyes! Our hiking adventure comes to an end in Skorpovac. This is followed by a panoramic ride to the Adriatic coast, where we can enjoy a dip in the sea under moonlight.
